AEI Workshop for Student Chapter Leaders (WSCL) is an annual training session that gathers AEI Student Chapter leaders and chapter members from across the country to network with peers, exchange best practices on how to help their chapter succeed, and discuss relevant topics such as leadership, career growth, and personal branding. As well as receiving leadership training or technical presentations from industry leaders.

Industry Presentation: Engineering for the Future - New Technologies and Policy Making

In order to combat and adapt to climate change, the built environment will need to change dramatically. The electricity grid must be powered by 100% clean energy and buildings will be high-performance and carbon-free. Pulling lessons learned from the utility and building industry sector, students will learn how to advance their careers in engineering and policy making. Paul LeePaul Lee, PE, Energy Policy Analyst for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass' Office of Energy and Sustainability

Paul serves as the Energy Policy Analyst for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass' Office of Energy and Sustainability. He oversees the City’s renewable energy and building decarbonization policies. He previously worked as a Civil Engineer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power on the LA100 Study, investigating ways to transition the City to 100% renewable power. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from UCLA, M.S. from Berkeley with an emphasis on energy and climate, and he is currently pursuing his Master's in Public Administration at USC. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering.
